Meet Alyson from the blog The Average Girl’s Guide, not only is she impeccably on point when it comes to fashion and beauty products but she also shares our backyard of South Florida. We had the chance to hear from Alyson and got her must-have picks for the year 2015.
“I’ve been blogging for four and a half years. I started because I really wanted for a forum for real girls to connect, to get helpful, practical content for our busy lives whether that meant outfit inspiration, a resourceful DIY, a quick recipe, the scoop on great deals, a movie or book review from the average girl’s perspective, a new brand or a better product. All of it!”
The highlight so far? “I have two. By far it’s been the amazing group of women — both bloggers and readers I’ve met through blogging. I haven’t even met everyone in person however I can’t imagine my life without connecting with these women around the country, around the world. It’s validation that we all have and struggle with such similar issues even if our lives look different from the outside. In another way, my partnership over the years with Target has been a dream. I was one of Target’s first members of its “Inner Circle” program, launched in 2011 to give bloggers behind-the-scenes access to the brand. I’m now working with Target in another capacity since the Inner Circle no longer exists, however going to the headquarters, meeting with leadership, getting flown to their VIP preview parties that launched their celeb partnerships? Cannot even believe it!”
My style: “Cozy chic. I’m a mom, a business owner, a blogger, involved in the community, I’m always on the go. I love to look stylish that’s current, but in a way that’s comfortable, whether that means extra special flats (i.e. embellished and a pointy toe), a great tote or a fab cross-body bag in fuchsia for a fun boost of color.”
South Florida influence on my style? “I’ve definitely embraced more color over the years, love a great print and a effortlessly breezy style, which all feels very south Florida.”
