How the Media Failed Women in 2013

 

We often forget exactly how mean people can be to one another. Just when you think we are moving forward, we’re reminded that our society has a ways to go. The film was put together by the organization The Representation Project, which uses interactive campaigns, strategic partnerships and education initiatives inspire individuals and communities to challenge the status quo and ultimately transform culture so everyone, regardless of gender, race, class, age, or circumstance can fulfill their potential.

It’s a compilation–brands, musicians, films, computer games and online/print stories–of the worst ways media has treated women. Of course, the video also highlights some of our greatest  moments. Who can forget Malala Yousafzai gracing the cover of TIME magazine for its 100 list of most influential people.
